Tarot is a set of 78 cards all with images on each of them. They have been around for over 500 years and there are all kinds of theories on when and where they actually were created. The theories go from the Egyptian days to early European times. These early times suggest gypsies, witches, and even to gambling uses. They were often associated with the occult since they are used to predict past, present, and of course, future events that fall under the title of ‘Divination’. This is the main purpose of these cards today.

There are many kinds of Tarot cards, I have over 50 decks and they have all kinds of different images on the 78 cards. For serious readings – I use Rider-Waite or The Universal series which is very similar to Rider-Waite.

There are 78 cards which are made up of 22 Major Arcana cards and 56 Minor Arcana cards that are split into 4 groups of suits called Cups, Swords, Wands, and Pentacles. Each group are numbered 1 (Ace) to 10, and each suit has court cards with a Page, Knight, Queen, and King.

The Minor Arcana cards all have numbers, images, and meanings that refer to the 4 suits. Cups represent our emotional side, and are generally accepted as relationship issues. Pentacles represent our security, economic issues, and generally point to our wealth status. Wands represent ourselves, who we are or how we want the outside world to see us as. The generally refers to our career, or the careers we wish we had. Finally, there is the suit of Swords, they represent our intellectual side, and our conflicts in all aspects of our lives.

The 22 Major cards are also known as ‘trump’ cards because the carry more weight when they come up. These cards are not usually ‘choice’ issues that can be changed by your actions, The Minor cards can always be changed. More on that later.

A tarot card reading consists of shuffling the cards and using a specific spread that tells you what each position in that spread means that all lead to a conclusion. The conclusion could be the answer to a Yes/No question or the conclusion is the probable result of your situation, followed by what’s going to happen next. This is the way I do all my readings.

Now, there are many spreads, and they are used for training, for learning the meanings of each card, and obviously for serious readings. The 1 card and 3 card readings are too simple to give you a good reading in my opinion but are great for learning.

In all my reading types, the 1-minute mini-reading, the 30-minute reading, and the 2 hour 1 on 1 personal readings – I use my own spread that consists of 10 cards in 2 rows numbered 1-5 on the first row followed by a second row for cards 6-10. Then I lay out for 4 more cards to tell you the immediate future for a 5 card ‘what comes right after’ your conclusion that is on cards positions 5 and 10.

The last column of the 2 rows is the conclusion. Whether it’s a yes/no question, or the result of a specific situation. That is where my readings begin. The real power of the accuracy of the reading is the ‘story’ that I tell you about you. That ‘story’ is the 10 cards. Your ‘story’ should make sense to you and then the result will be accurate. Whether I send you a link with a ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ – it’s the story that goes along with it that should judge the accuracy of the reading.

A mini-reading uses the same number of cards but I give you an immediate ‘positive – thumbs up’ or a ‘negative – thumbs down’ followed by a link that takes you to my web site. That link takes you directly to your reading and then allows you to give me a comment on it. I will always give you free mini-readings as long as you give me your comments on the result. The link could be written up and summarized or an audio recording of your reading. I am using both to see which people like better. It’s a few sentences.

By the way, a SMS reading means I do the reading by text only and do not call you. Sometimes, especially the newest generation, would prefer not to talk. That’s ok. So I will do the reading, send you a SMS text with your link, you click on the link, it will take you to your reading on my web site, and you can read it and review it on your own time whenever you like. Save the link as it will always work and take you to that reading. A phone reading is just that, I call you, and we do the reading by phone. I will still send you a your reading summarized with a link so you can review it or me – or ask me some questions if you are confused. Warning, I will probably CALL YOU to talk about it.

A 30-minute reading is usually done by phone call or text, and it’s a conclusion followed by a card by card, in that position and your ‘story’ now has quite a lot more detail information. These readings are also summarized with some advice as to your next steps in this situation.

No, I prefer to see what the cards say and then maybe, if you feel the question is ‘out of the norm’ then yes, by all means. That is up to you, I do say that I do not need to know the question, so you can ask something very personal to you and then use my answers to fit into your questions.

That is where the psychic aspects of the readings come into play. If I start to get a lot of information that you are reacting to, then we stay on that because we have hit an area of importance or we are right on point with a significant aspect of your situation.

The readings do not tell you what to do. They say what will probably happen if everything continues as is. That includes honesty, ethnics and patience (not one of my virtues but I do try).

Are card readings an art? Are they a science? Is it Magic?

Do they predict your future? Do they tell you what to do?

What to watch out for? Who to love? Who to avoid?

They are none of the above and they are all of the above - All at the same time!

That's what I do. You ask the questions (privately) and I use the cards to give you the answers. You put them together and tell me if it works. We talk about it and if it's not making sense - we do it again. usually it works out.

Together, we probe the images on the cards and I show you the science, the art, and the prophecy.

There are many kinds of card readings. They ALL require study and work. Obviously, Psychic talents will greatly enhance the reading but it's not magic. There are a hundred different kinds of cards, I use Tarot - but then there are a hundred different kinds of Tarot cards.

In the end, it's all about the images. I use different cards for different circumstances but in general, I use Rider-Waite for my serious readings.
